Do I need an account?
Yes. If you already use SailR on the web, just sign in — your plan and your progress come with you, and there is nothing to buy again.
Does it work offline, at sea?
No. SailR needs a working internet connection, so plan to use it in port or wherever you have a usable signal onboard.
Is it a substitute for my college?
No. It is practice and guidance — the questions, model answers and a tutor to argue with. Your class notes and your college still do the teaching.
